Neil Skidell is the Managing Director of Par Green Solutions at The Par Group and brings over twenty eight years of experience in the development of forward thinking, environmentally responsible projects to his role. Since 1986 he has designed and developed HVAC, power and cogeneration plants as well as strategic energy management projects in countries throughout the world including the U.S., Europe, Asia, South America and the Caribbean. He is an expert in the application of technology to solve energy and water conservation, generation, and utilization challenges. Additionally he has worked on the design, development, construction and commissioning of Cogeneration projects ranging from small hotels to oil refineries as well as complete infrastructure solutions for island based communities and resorts. His experience includes energy projects in urban, suburban and rural settings.

He regularly evaluates distributed energy technologies for their inclusion in projects. These typically include gas turbines, microturbines, reciprocating engines, fuel cells, energy storage, thermal storage, software and controls as well as balance of plant technologies including absorption chillers, steam turbine chillers and heat rejection methodologies.

He has been published in The Mann Report, Real Estate Weekly, The New York Law Journal and several other publications.

He regularly participates in panel discussions on topics relating to energy and innovation.

Neil is a member of the American Society of Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineers (ASHRAE), the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and the USGBC.

John Thornton, NWFPA Energy Consultant, CleanFuture, Principal

John Thornton is the principal at CleanFuture; a sustainable energy practice specializing in energy efficiency, sustainability, energy storage and electric vehicles. He has 25 years’ experience in industry, including technology development and leadership of complex programs.

John serves as energy advisor and provides program management and support to NWFPA’s innovative and nationally recognized energy program; which includes the formal goal adopted by members in 2009 to reduce member-wide energy intensity by 25% in 10 years.

He earned a B.S. degree from Oregon State University, and a M.B.A .from Portland State University.

Donald C. Erickson, President and Founder

DONALD C. ERICKSON is the President and founder of Energy Concepts Company LLC (ECC), a company dedicated to developing world-class technology for converting low grade heat and waste heat to useful utilities. Under his direction, ECC has demonstrated new economic equipment for producing refrigeration, heat pumping and/or power from waste heat. Mr. Erickson has authored over 150 technical articles, and has been granted 80 U.S. Patents. Mr. Erickson holds a B.S. in Naval Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, and served for ten years in the nuclear submarine Navy prior to founding ECC.

Ellen Makar, Business Development Manager

ELLEN MAKAR is the Business Development Manager at Energy Concepts Company LLC (ECC). Ms. Makar holds a B.S in Materials Science / BioMedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. She has worked at Energy Concepts for over 16 years. Ellen was the project manager for the 2000 refrigeration ton waste-heat-powered chiller installed as a Turbine Inlet Air Cooler at a power plant- Energy Concepts’ largest installation to date. Prior to ECC, she was a mechanical engineer at a natural gas utility. She lives in Clarksville, Maryland.

Rajesh Sinha, Director-Americas

Rajesh Sinha has worked in the Marketing & Business Development function at Thermax since 1991. Geographically, Rajesh has established his company’s operations at several locations in India & International offices including Brazil, Bangladesh, etc., before taking on the US assignment. He currently heads Thermax Brazilian subsidiary and is responsible for Business Development for the Energy business at Thermax, Inc in the US.

Rajesh is a Mechanical Engineer, batch of 1991 from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India and has studied Strategic Market Planning at the leading management school in India, Xavier Labor Research Institute, Jamshedpur.

Vijay Sharma, Regional Business Manager

Vijay has comprehensive experience of about 19 years in the area of Engineering of large industrial & commercial Refrigeration & Air-conditioning spaces, Utilities / Facilities management (ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT) and CHP.

 Vijay is currently working as the Regional Business Manager-West Coast, Central & South America Market, responsible for business development in the field of Cooling & Heating Products, based in Irvine, California. He has worked in the Technical Services function at Thermax since 1996, as well as Sales & Services operations at several locations in India & International offices including South East Asia, before taking on the US assignment. Vijay Sharma is a Mechanical Engineer graduating in 1994 from Pune University, India

Peter graduated magna cum laude with a B.A (Economics) from Claremont College and a BS & MS (Engineering) from Stanford University. Peter's visionary approach to business development is the driving force behind May-Ruben. He has previously been instrumental in the success of start-up ventures which partnered with, or were sold to, multinational companies. His work with ventures in the service and manufacturing industries have resulted in operating joint venture agreements with Fortune 500 companies, such as Baxter Health Care, Outboard Marine Corporation, and Sears.
